hey MS!

glad you dig.... i am still listening to this stuff myself. and that really says something about this run. many of these shows really warrant one, two, three or more listens...

and tonight i listened to the second set from the 17th again... and realized that i had this set on cassette in the 90s and it was one of my favorites. this is one of the original tapes i had that made me a big BOBBY fan -- the jam and subsequent SPANISH JAM with PHIL & BRENT is just so amazing.... this tour contains some of the DEAD's most inventive moments sans Jerry Garcia....

earlier today i was also listening to the PLAYIN jam from 4/14 again too.... and i cannot say enough about that jam either: SEAGULL NOISES from BOBBY... more brent magic!

like i've said above... if we could get a better mix (i.e. more PHHHHHIIIIIIILLLLL).... we might be looking at this material more seriously. is there a DP from this run? i don't think so.... this was a really great tour. they had a set of tunes they wanted to work on and over the course of the month really put in a workmanlike effort improving all the songs each night....

it was a wonderful three weeks to be a deadhead for sure....
